So, you’ve come here to learn a little about me.

(Or you’ve taken a terribly wrong turn somewhere and are currently very confused.)

I graduated with honors from Tyler School of Art in 1996, one of only two people in my class who graduated with two portfolios: graphic design and illustration. I was also the only junior to win the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Illustration, an award previously won only by seniors each year.

I started working in the graphic design field almost immediately, and have spent nearly thirty years (man, that hurts to type out) in the creative arts. I’ve expanded my skill set and knowledge base along the journey while working across a wide variety of industries. which you can see in my portfolio section. My career has gravitated more to the toys & games sector than anything else, and I’ve become an expert packaging designer as well as an experienced product developer/engineer. I’ve worked for small startup companies, for giants like Disney, Hasbro, Wal*Mart, Netflix, and for every size company in between.

Additionally, I bring a writing background to the table. Several of the companies I’ve worked for in the past have utilized my skills as a copywriter for advertising/marketing purposes and colorful product descriptions for catalogs and websites. I also have fifteen years of freelance experience on writing and art teams that develop tabletop roleplaying games for several game companies and ttrpg properties, most recently including the newest upcoming book for The Expanse RPG. I’ve also written for Talisman, Savage Mojo, Fantasy AGE, and Tribality Publishing for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

During my personal time, I also write fiction and develop my own board/strategy game ideas for future publishing. What can I say? I’m a nerd all day.

I’m currently on the hunt for my next full-time position, but I’m also very open to freelance opportunities in both design and writing.
